Although I am not a fan of black and white interiors, I must admit that the elegance of monochrome spaces cannot be matched by many other color combinations. In general, such a strong contrast is difficult to control, and the amounts in which the two non-colors will be arranged in the room must be balanced by a specialist to avoid unwanted effects.
Open GalleryIf you want a "sophisticated" house, I recommend playing with black and white in approximately equal proportions, still insisting on white. You rarely encounter black and white interiors in residential spaces where all the walls are as black as ebony, but this is by no means impossible.
If you opt for black painted walls, then I hope you have very large windows and that your home's interior is adequately naturally lit for most of the day.
For elegance, a good idea is to opt for a black floor, walls in a pale shade of vernil, and white furniture with small black accents here and there, without insisting. If you don't want a black floor, then choose a focal point of the house, such as the staircase, as the only element closed in a white or pastel interior. Be careful though, not every pastel shade looks good next to black.
The game between black and white is not a good idea for an entire home, unless you are a convinced bachelor and the house is not a space to which you dedicate a lot of time each day. Interiors of this type can become cold very easily and are quite difficult to maintain over time.
If you don't want to give up on the idea of monochromaticity, then choose only one room that you will decorate in this style. The living room or kitchen would be advisable. For the bedroom, choose restful and fresh colors.

Stripes are in high demand. It seems that stripes have returned to interior design. Despite the "zebra" effect, a wall plastered with black and white stripes looks good, is modern and suits small spaces.
