Are you renovating and want to change your boiler or are you simply not satisfied with your old one? Read on to find out what important aspects to consider when buying a new boiler.
Classic gas boiler versus condensing technology boiler
Conventional boilers have an efficiency of up to 94%, and over time and equipment wear, efficiency may decrease. In addition, combustion products are evacuated at temperatures exceeding 100⁰C to ensure sufficient draft in a conventional flue system, which means that this heat is wasted.
Compared to conventional boilers, condensing boilers have an advanced heating system that also uses the thermal energy resulting from the combustion of fuels, which would normally be lost through the chimney. They have a much higher energy efficiency and therefore reduce heating costs and CO₂ emissions.
Practically, residual energy is recovered and transferred to the heated water mass, allowing condensing technology boilers to have lower fuel consumption and be less polluting. This results in an increased efficiency of up to 108%, which translates into a reduction in consumption of up to 30%.
The right capacity according to the living space
It is important that the thermal power plant is correctly sized for the surface area of your home and the hot water needs. In addition, other factors such as wall insulation or windows, desired ambient temperature and last but not least the orientation of the building must be taken into account.
