Turning ordinary jars, which no longer find a place in your home, into interesting and useful objects that will spark the curiosity of guests can be done with great ease. One of the new uses for jars can be as lampshades.

For this DIY project you need the following materials:

jar with lid;

string;

a tube of silicone;

bulb;

socket;

cable;

knife.

The steps you need to take are as follows:

If the jar is not a Mason Jar model, which already has an opening in the lid, then you will need to make a section with the help of the knife and create an opening for the socket to be included;

Roll and glue the string up to halfway up the jar;

Insert the cable with the socket through the hole in the lid and tighten it;

Hang the lampshade in the desired location and connect it to the electrical system.

We advise that before connecting the new lampshade to the electrical system, you contact an electrician to make sure everything goes smoothly. Especially if you don't have basic knowledge in the field. Ideally, the new lampshade should be connected to a dimmer switch, and when you turn on the lights at a medium intensity, the effect will be much more interesting.

You can also play around with the colors or sizes of the jars. Colored lampshades can represent decorative objects for both the kitchen and any other room. In addition to all this, you will have the satisfaction that you have contributed to recycling objects that are hard to find a place in modern homes, people usually throwing away jars after they are empty.
