Open Gallery You surely have various sets of tea or coffee cups in your kitchen, plain, colorful, or with different patterns that you haven't used for a while but keep because you can't part with them. Now you can find a practical use for them without having to give them up: turn them into flower holders.
Choose flowering plants with small sizes to fit efficiently in the cups. It's good for the cup sizes to vary for more diversity. You can move them around the house more easily or place them easily on the windowsill or balcony.
The first step is to select the cups you will use. You will also need a 6 mm drill bit with a tungsten plate for ceramic plates and a piece of insulating tape. Here's a tip: the thinner the base of the cup, the easier it will be to drill holes.
Stick the tape on the back of the cup so that the drill bit doesn't slip. Drill slowly at first until you have made a small hole and then continue until the drill bit has pierced the base. Then add potting soil and transplant the desired plant. You can also use colorful bowls, teapots, or saucers on the same principle.
For an extra effect, you can keep the cups' saucers. In addition, they will be useful for plant drainage. We recommend petunias, begonias, kalanchoe, gardenias, or azaleas from plants. A simple idea to beautify your balcony or terrace this spring.
