To meet the needs of students in a sustainable and above all accessible way, designers at Tengbom have created, in collaboration with Lund University in Sweden, an eco-friendly micro-apartment within a self-standing structure measuring only 10 square meters.
The apartment was designed in a compact, individual structure, offering the necessary comfort, including space for sleeping, kitchen, bathroom and a small courtyard. Thanks to the materials used, stratified wood, and processing technology, the ecological impact is reduced.
ergy efficiency is the key factor in the construction of such dwellings. Choosing the right material and especially the way it is processed is crucial for minimizing carbon emissions.
We also highlight the local sourcing of our materials, which translates to reduced transportation costs and brings added benefits in terms of material reuse, with the raw material being replanted annually.

The interior is friendly and adapted to the modern, minimalist lifestyle of young people. The internal structure is designed so that each essential part of daily life is easily accessible, efficient, and above all, occupies as little space as possible. Multifunctional pieces are essential for a coherent layout. The table serves as both a dining area and a desk.
The hammock is the ideal place for relaxation and reading; being suspended, it doesn't take up floor space. Wall-mounted shelves function as stairs to access the sleeping area. Windows resembling portholes provide the necessary light so that the space doesn't appear too dark or claustrophobic.
