Modern and elegant, this 31-square-meter studio apartment in Bucharest manages to offer all the necessary comfort without sacrificing aesthetics, which is equally important for the client. Its modest dimensions lean the balance more towards utility and comfort, being furnished to accommodate two people.
Open Gallery The available space was divided into an entrance area consisting of a generous five-square-meter hallway and a bathroom with an inset bathtub, and a living room, which in turn consists of a living area and an open kitchen with a dining area adjacent to the kitchen counter. The sofa in the living room is extendable and can become a very comfortable double bed at any time.
The compact space arrangement proposed by the team of architects harmoniously combines functionality with elegance. The designers successfully managed to visually enlarge the existing space and find efficient storage solutions without aesthetic sacrifices.
Choosing finishes in light tones succeeds in visually opening up the space and creating a warm, pleasant atmosphere. The porcelain stoneware and light laminate flooring are complemented by an artistic wallpaper (mounted on the wall with the television) and a play of contrasting textures.
We find a pleasant velvet model for upholstered furniture, a fluffy rug in front of the sofa, blackout curtains made of textile material in a warm dusty pink hue. All these contribute successfully to shaping a warm and comfortable atmosphere.
Storage spaces have been carefully studied and solved with great emphasis on details. The hallway wardrobe with sliding mirror doors ensures the storage of recurring garments, while the furniture above the door to the living area was designed for long-term storage, maximizing the existing space without compromising comfort.
The bathroom was decorated following the stylistic line of the dwelling, being dominated by neutral tones and large marble tiles. Generous storage was designed as a continuous housing unit with an integrated sink and drawers with storage spaces under the countertop. Sliding doors also hide the washing machine.
A lighted mirror with LED strip successfully completes the stylistic composition while being extremely practical at the same time.
The project implementation lasted ten months, from the first meeting with the client to moving into the newly furnished home.
