For the design of this 65 square meter apartment, the designer proposed an approach centered on obtaining as much functionality as possible from each area.
The space is configured as a two-room apartment, the long and relatively narrow layout being the part that raised the degree of difficulty of the project. But let's look at it in more detail.
The kitchen is the key function in this apartment. Access to the living room is made from it, and through it you reach the secondary hallway to the night area, with the bedroom, bathroom, and areas designated for storage. The solutions proposed by the designer for optimizing the layout are as surprising as they are efficient.
The apartment receives very little natural light; there are only three windows which the designer exploited as much as possible. To compensate for the lack of windows, he opted for light, warm tones and the most efficient artificial lighting for each function.
With only one window in the kitchen area, and the creation of an open space with the living room being impossible, the focus was on opening up the kitchen to both the entrance hallway and the secondary one.
A two-sided layout was necessary to ensure the necessary storage spaces, but also enough room for cooking. Thus, the furniture is arranged symmetrically on either side of the access area to the secondary hallway.
The kitchen space looks more like a living area by including a small TV spot, with a sofa and open shelves that increase storage. The dining area is also located here, centrally positioned.
Although there isn't enough natural light, the designer didn't shy away from colors and prints. Thus, he managed to bring an extra touch of cheerfulness and dynamism to each area. The predominant base consists of white and neutral tones at the level of the flooring and largely of the furniture. Overall, the layout appears balanced.
For the living room, blue was intended to be the star color. It is excellently rendered at the level of the sofa, armchair, and accent wall. Stylistically, the room takes shape in a modern line with good taste. The hidden bookcase is the centerpiece, and its design is not accidental in the context of poor lighting. By masking the books, the space appears more orderly and airy.
Special attention was paid to storage areas. Practically, no function lacks cabinets. From the entrance hallway with a small dressing room of up to 2 square meters, to the living room cabinet and even the built-in units in the secondary hallway and including the bedroom, this apartment ensures beneficiaries efficient spaces for storing clothes, shoes, and other bulkier items.
Let's not forget the bathroom: above the washing machine, cabinets have been integrated for cleaning products and detergents.
This project is a source of inspiration for all those looking for ideas for their home. Follow the images in the gallery above where you will also find a sketch of the apartment to get a better idea of the configuration and dimensions.
