With the arrival of warm weather, garden care becomes an increasingly pressing concern for those who live in houses with yards and have a passion for cultivating plants. There is always something to do in a garden.

Whether plants need to be watered regularly, protected against pests, or certain trees grafted, there are numerous activities that can be done in the garden during the warm season of the year.

Here are 9 helpful tips to help you better organize and simplify your gardening tasks:

Convert the handle of your shovel or pickaxe to meters. Mark with a permanent marker, on one of the handles, using a tape measure as a guide. You can then use the wooden meter when planting seedlings, allowing you to measure the distance between plants before they are planted.

Create labels from plastic cups. You can place these labels next to each plant to remember the variety it belongs to. Sand down the colored parts until they are completely white and you will be able to write on them with a marker.

Cover growing plants with a ghiveci. This will provide them with more heat and help them grow faster. Keep in mind that they may experience deficiencies caused by climatic factors or even soil conditions, and you will need to apply Fertilizers for crops.

Clean plants of pests using scotch tape. Stick a piece of scotch tape on your hand with the sticky side facing out and run it over the small insects covering the plant. This will easily remove them from the affected plant. For more severe cases, do not hesitate to apply Fungicide to combat plant diseases or fungi.

Place a plastic glass reservoir next to plants that need a lot of water. These reservoirs will be placed in the soil, with the cap in which holes have been made pushed into the ground. The opposite side of the cap will be cut off so that water can be poured into the resulting reservoir.

Use the water in which vegetables have been boiled to water your plants.

Some varieties of plants, such as peas, need to be soaked in water for a period before planting. This is done to promote faster growth.

Build seedling containers from toilet paper rolls. This way, they can be planted with the container when they are big enough.

Think vertically. Choose plants that grow on trellises or select specific varieties that can be planted in vertical gardens. You can build a vertical garden from PVC pipes in which to cultivate various plants with small roots.
