Life in an apartment can be perfect for a cat, provided the space is adapted to its needs. A happy cat is a stimulated cat.
1. Create vertical space For a cat, the surface area of an apartment is not measured only in square meters on the ground, but also vertically. Cats love to climb and observe the world from above.
Invest in a playset (cat tree): This provides it with climbing space, a place to sharpen its claws, and an observation post.
Mount shelves on the walls: A few simple shelves, mounted in steps, can create a fun highway for your cat.
Free up a windowsill: A comfortable pillow on the windowsill creates the perfect "cinema" from which it can watch birds and the hustle and bustle outside.
2. Mental Stimulation and Interactive Play An indoor cat can get bored. Boredom can lead to anxiety or destructive behavior.
Daily play sessions: Dedicate at least 15-20 minutes of interactive playtime each day. Use feather wands or laser toys (being careful not to frustrate it by offering a tangible reward at the end) to stimulate its hunting instinct.
