Maintaining a swimming pool requires a regular routine that includes cleaning, chemical monitoring, and equipment maintenance.
Check and Adjust Water Level
Check for Leaks: If you notice a rapid decrease in water level, there may be leaks that require repair.
Clean the Pool Skimmer and Vacuum: Use a skimmer to remove leaves, branches, and other debris from the water surface. Regularly vacuum the pool floor to remove dirt and debris that accumulates.
Clean Walls and Edge: Use a brush to clean the pool walls and waterline to prevent algae buildup and calcium deposits.
Check and Maintain Water Chemical Balance Regular Testing: Use testing kits to check the pH level, chlorine, alkalinity, and other chemicals in the water. Ideally, the pH should be between 7.2 and 7.6, and the chlorine level between 1 and 3 ppm (parts per million).
Chemical Adjustment: If levels are not within the recommended range, adjust them with specific chemicals. For example, use a pH increaser to raise the pH and a pH decreaser to lower it. Add chlorine for chlorination according to instructions.
Maintain the Filtration System Clean or Replace Filters: Regularly clean filters to ensure efficient water filtration. Check the manual to see how often they need to be replaced.
Check the Pump: Make sure the pump is working correctly and that there are no blockages in the water circulation system.
