A question that can never find its answer, but for which each of us can contribute with a possibility regarding a probable version of what buildings created by the greatest artists in history would have looked like.

Some of them never had architectural skills, but through their paintings, sculptures, drawings and generally through the works of art they left to the world, we cannot help but wonder what a building, a room or a house imagined and created by the most talented minds in the artistic field would have looked like.

The unique way of interpreting art is up to each of us, and that is precisely why everyone has a unique style of creating and appreciating art pieces, but if we want to transpose an artistic current into an architectural style, we must see how such a combination would look.

For this project, entitled “Archist”, 27 artistic personalities from history and their works were considered and an attempt was made to transpose their way of thinking into different types of buildings.

Artist Frederico Babina created the "Archist" project as a mashup comprising a series of illustrations to offer a vision of what architecture would have looked like if it had been conceived by the greatest artists in the world.

Take, for example, a dog-shaped cutout from Keith Haring or add a bit of flair from Roy Lichtenstein's pop art and imagine what could come out? Go towards surrealism on the path chosen by Salvador Dali or head towards a minimalist style similar to Mondrian's and build a building based on their aesthetic ideas and criteria.

This compilation created by artist Frederico Babina is appreciated throughout the artistic and architectural world because it expresses a perfect symbiosis between the two very close domains that go extremely well together.
