In any construction, the quality of materials is the factor that should constantly guide us. Only superior materials guarantee a durable and resilient building over time.
Open GalleryFor roofs, efficient insulation primarily involves suitable materials such as Knauf Insulation glass mineral wool, which, together with correct installation, will protect us from future problems; for pitched roofs, all of these will create protection against external factors - wind, rain, snow - as well as thermal and acoustic comfort indoors.
In addition, a proper execution of the work will help us achieve optimal results.
What are the steps for mounting insulation?
Step 1
Before installing the layer of glass mineral wool, a waterproofing membrane is required behind the rafters to prevent water penetration and damage to the roof over time.
Step 2
After carefully measuring the rafters, you will cut the material with an additional 20 mm compared to the measured dimensions for a more secure fastening. Then, insert the insulating material between the rafters by applying lateral pressure, thus avoiding the creation of thermal bridges that can damage the insulation.
Step 3
Over the insulating material, mount metal profiles which will serve as support for the next layer - gypsum plasterboards. To fix the metal profiles to the rafters, it is recommended to use self-tapping screws.
