If some time ago Miso Architects told us about the latest interior design trends from the prestigious Maison&Objet trade show. Now it's the turn of our friends from Delta Studio, recently returned from Italy, to tell us about what they learned at Cersaie, the world's most important trade fair for ceramic tiles and sanitary ware.
This year's edition showcased a world of ceramic tiles full of technological innovations: tiles with an aged wood look, tiles with a natural stone look (especially marble, granite, slate), brick and patchwork style tiles. Moreover, the preference for oversized tile formats but with reduced thickness continues.
We were very impressed with the wood-look tiles, particularly the Manhattan collection from Porcelanosa for flooring. Inspired by Scandinavian style, the tiles have a warm, retro look.
More than just replicating the look of wood, Natucer's Retro collection offers designers a ceramic tile model with a patina effect, creating the impression of aged, weathered wood. Additionally, the tiles come in hexagonal, square, or parallelogram shapes, producing unique effects when installed on a surface.
Following the established trends of recent years, Ceramiche Keope's Brik collection offers a slightly industrial approach with tiles and faience in the standard look and format of a brick. The colors are varied, have a matte finish, and are suitable for vintage-inspired spaces, yet contemporary in execution.
One of our favorite trends is printed ceramic tiles. Deco River from Porcelanosa with its patchwork design or American from Natucer with extruded ceramic tiles are just a few recommendations for those who wish to create contemporary spaces with retro hints.
The Firenze Heritage collection from FAP truly impressed us. The collection blends the traditional beauty of cotto tiles with modern manufacturing techniques, creating a contemporary context for generations of tradition and craftsmanship.
We were pleasantly surprised by the ceramic tile models inspired by natural stone, such as marble or granite, as they are suitable for a wide range of uses, from walls and floors to kitchen countertops, bathrooms, and bars. The Cosmos series from Venis Porcelanosa integrates fine incrustations with a matte effect, and the gray tones of the ceramic tiles evoke the metals found in rocks.
Take a look at the gallery above where you will find images of the various ceramic tiles mentioned integrated into a design setting. Soon, all collections launched at Cersaie 2016 will be available in our showrooms.Delta Studio is a creative space located in Bucharest, Romania, dedicated to providing high-quality photography and videography services.
