Founded in 1949 by a group of flower bulb producers. It was created as an annual flower exhibition in the Netherlands. It quickly became a popular tourist attraction.
Description:
The garden covers an area of 32 hectares. It has over 7 million flowers planted annually. There are over 800 varieties of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and other flowers. The garden is landscaped with various themed gardens, lakes and bridges.
Events:
Keukenhof is open to the public for only 8 weeks a year, in spring. Various events are organized, such as flower parades, concerts and exhibitions.
