The award for Best Private Residence Interior Design this year, presented by the Elle Decoration Romanian Design Awards, was won this year by the project Dorobanti Villa, designed by Lemon Interior Design.
Within the project, architects transformed an old house, dating back to 1938, into a fantastic world completely rebuilt over a year, from foundations to spectacular decor. The urban design harmoniously combines natural elements of stone and wood in warm, bright colors. The muse of the "Dorobanti Villa" project is the SoHo style of London and New York.
We recreated the contemporary urban universe in the 360 square meters built for a young parents' home. In our view, there is no design without functionality; they are intertwined. We used interior design to obtain a product as useful as possible for the homeowner, to enjoy as much free and bright space as possible.
When planning the design, we focused on the walls and lighting, as well as the elements we desired in the space: wood and stone. Starting from these elements, we used stone wallpaper, wooden mosaic, stucco finish, and Krion for the bathrooms. To warm and balance the atmosphere, we introduced walnut wood, leather, and velvet.
To separate the floors, instead of using traditional elements like glass and gypsum cardboard, we envisioned a demarcation made of wood.
