MOD ELi ER is a story, before being simply an uniquely designed space. We asked the owners where all the objects inside came from and they confessed that most of the items found in the bar's design at Duzilor 12 are inherited from their grandmother.
Opening the GalleryWhy is this so important? Because grandma plays the most important role in this project. The two owners, Dana and her cousin, gave up their corporate careers to open a party space in the first stage, then extended the program and thus the bar near UNATC was born.
The name deModelier, which in Romanian is synonymous with the one who creates patterns in clothing design, comes from their grandmother, a former seamstress. This profession further inspired them in the interior design.
Inside you will find old sewing machines that are now tables where young people sit every evening, handmade chandeliers from clothes hangers, bathrooms decorated with cutouts from old tailoring magazines, handmade accessories and decorations all related to the art of sewing, panels with buttons, mannequins, etc.
The decor is completed by vintage radios, upholstered sofas and wooden chairs, a chest of drawers, wall paintings by artist Om Jadei, and many other items waiting to be discovered.
The terrace is enclosed by a tall fence, adorned with old painted doors arranged in a unique pattern. The outdoor furniture is crafted from wooden pallets and decorative cushions, featuring bicycle-shaped chairs, high tables, low tables, and a wooden gazebo for large gatherings of friends. You'll be served in glasses that are not what you might expect.
You will receive lemonade in jars or...vases, painted mugs, cheerful teapots and many other items. Even their partners, the suppliers, were by their side and took into account the specifics of the location before sending them furniture or other promotional materials.
Everything was achieved by them without any interior design experience and without much deliberation. You can admire the final result in the images.
MOD ELi ER, after a year and a half of existence, is happy that beautiful people, people with stories, young artists, nonconformists, corporate workers, writers, musicians, and people eager for life enter through its seemingly clumsily painted gate. It invites you to simple evenings with friends, film screenings, exhibitions of contemporary art and photography, charitable events, and interesting workshops.
