The living room is our favorite place in the house. Here we relax, watching television, reading a book or receiving guests. Its arrangement represents us, like a business card. Many changes have taken place over the years in the decor of this room.

Approaches differ, some opting for a minimalist line where functional furniture and neutral colors predominate, on airy and well-thought-out spaces so as to ensure both storage needs and aesthetic ones.

Open GaleriaWe have often said in previous articles that light is among the key factors of a beautiful interior design. The more light sources, the better. And if we predominantly have natural sources, then it's even better. A room with the right lighting appears larger and its features are highlighted.

Let's also consider the lighting fixture, which often represents a decorative object in itself. Correctly positioned and well-chosen, it can be the most important decorative element because it creates the atmosphere!

Color influences our mood. Neutral shades, white, cream, gray, natural tones of various wood essences can create spectacular spaces through the interplay of light and color introduced into the room. We must not forget the color accents that provide dynamism to a room: a touch of yellow, orange, saturated blue or even a black accent.

The banal bores, so we don't want anything banal for our living room either!

The line on which the design of furniture for a modern living room goes is as simple and minimalist as possible. Emphasis is placed on geometry as an integrated form in the decor. The current trend is to integrate libraries made of modules that, depending on their arrangement, will be able to modify the image of the assembly at some point (see the last two models proposed in the photo gallery above).

Units with open shelves that visually delimit two functions or built-in units that do not overload the space, these are just a few trendy ideas with spectacular effects.

Moreover, combining or juxtaposing various contrasting materials such as wood, frosted glass or aluminum adds a touch of discreet elegance to the interior design.

Eclecticism is the magic word in recent years' interior designs. It relies on unique associations of styles, materials and textures that transform spaces into unique, original, personal living environments. It seems that nothing is forbidden anymore.

Symmetries take on new connotations, collections (of any kind) are highlighted by creating a personalized corner, a glimpse into the nature of the person who lives in that space. Vintage pieces, elements from the industrial field or, conversely, from the rustic environment, come in various forms in the interior designs of our homes.

Every element in itself has its due importance in the living room arrangement. Nothing should be chosen at random. The pieces must communicate with each other, together composing a symphony of decor.
