Because we love modern renovations, we never miss an opportunity to bring you extra inspiration through the most interesting apartment makeovers.
The renovation of this apartment involved a sustained effort to preserve the space's features while shaping new forms into a balanced and original design.
Located on the top floor of a building in Holland, the apartment was a true challenge for the designers at Global Arhitects. They aimed to preserve the apartment's layout while simultaneously restoring its functionality.
A large portion of the apartment is occupied by the living area, including the kitchen and dining space, both with storage areas that also house appliances such as the refrigerator and washing machine.
The space is not fragmented, and the functions flow naturally. The rooms appear spacious and bright thanks to generous windows that allow for a large amount of natural light.
Another interesting aspect of the renovation is the exposed brick and concrete finishes, reminiscent of an industrial style. This adds texture to the predominantly white space.
The dining area draws attention with the unfinished wood tabletop and the variety of chairs in different designs, thus maintaining contemporary trends of combining eclectic elements in a décor.
Part of this apartment's charm comes from its industrial-inspired elements, such as the kitchen accessories: sink the concrete countertop, stainless steel cabinets, but especially the stoves, the stars of these arrangements due to their vintage character.
In the bedroom, wooden pallets were used to create a unique bed design. The bathroom features an unconventional approach: a round, modern sink is supported by an old piece of furniture salvaged before the renovation, a superb mix of modern and vintage. We were also drawn to the use of wood as decorative elements functioning for the two climbs.
A unique space that reminds us that even old pieces can have a new life with the right approach to design.
