In a neutral, minimalist setting with warm, open hues, we find vibrant color accents inspired by nature, both in terms of color and texture and visual expression. This is the story of a three-room apartment in Moscow, located in the Botanical Garden residential complex.
The clients, a couple with two young children, are calm and delicate people; they were willing to experiment with lights, materials, and structures, granting the architecture team maximum creative freedom. They were also delighted with the bolder solutions proposed to them: green inserts, gold details, futuristic geometric shapes (ceiling and general lighting in the hallway).
The apartment is laid out in an 'L' shape, with each room accessible from the hallway. Next to the entrance is the bathroom and the closed kitchen, followed by the living room and then the sleeping area with the two bedrooms separated by a generous bathroom. From the master bedroom you enter the loggia which has been furnished as an office.
One of the tricks used in the design is the use of mirrors in almost every area to visually enlarge the available space and add a precious decorative effect. In the master bedroom, mirrors were used on the sides of the headboard, reflecting the wallpaper harmoniously on the opposite wall.
The kitchen, small and seemingly cramped, is a compact but extremely efficiently utilized space through the furniture solutions adopted and the color palette used. The emphasis is on comfort and pleasant use of the space.
The window sill in the kitchen (being low enough) was transformed into a bench that serves the dining table. In addition to efficiency, a relaxing and friendly atmosphere was achieved.
In the children's room, a playful atmosphere was created, a storybook space without becoming too cluttered. The wall finish is magnetic paint, an ideal solution for children. Opting for custom-made furniture, they managed to exploit every square centimeter with ingenious storage solutions.
