“Earthly Apartment”, as named by the Rite design team, is a complex project, its implementation lasted approximately one year, being finalized at the beginning of 2021.
The beneficiaries, a family with two children, wanted a generous living space, where the various areas communicate efficiently with each other, and a pleasant, warm atmosphere, inspired by natural colors and textures.
“For this apartment, our goal was to create a natural ambiance, generated by straight and clear lines and simple surfaces. Minimalist textures contrast with large oak wood surfaces, a natural element with a lot of character.”
The apartment, with a usable area of 138 square meters, has two bathrooms, an open space (consisting of kitchen, dining area and living room), two children's rooms and a play area for them and the matrimonial bedroom.
To create the desired spatial distribution and efficient communication between the areas included in the open space and to ensure maximum functionality, repartitioning interventions were necessary.
The proposed color palette is based on earthy, natural colors and relies on strong contrasts: black, dark brown tones and warm, light shades: wood, white, cream.
The matrimonial bedroom was designed in masculine tones, minimalist in spatial distribution. The finishes contrast harmoniously with the generous white wardrobe, which provides sufficient storage space for the beneficiaries.
“A simple bedroom in form, but rich conceptually. Since the client is a practitioner of Eastern arts and a seeker of mindfulness, we designed a huge mandala as the only purely decorative object in this matrimonial bedroom.”
The children's rooms were designed based on the interests and personalities of the children but can be easily adapted to the future needs of the children. The second living room in the house constitutes a connecting space between the children's bedrooms for play and team activities, thus delimiting the bedrooms for rest and individual activities.
Most of the furniture was custom-made (Triaxis), the sofa, bedside tables, and living room rug were purchased from The Home, curtains and drapes were made by Ariklia Decoratiuni. The lighting fixtures that enhance the entire concept of the interior design were purchased from Nova Luce, The Home, and Eglo.
