In a former cotton factory hall in the Timpuri Noi neighborhood, OD makerspace recently opened its doors. This is a space where creative people can put their ideas into practice using various cutting equipment, 3D printers, laser engravers and other tools provided by the makerspace team.
The principle of NOD makerspace originates from the DIY culture which has strongly influenced education, business and design internationally.
The space spans an area of 650 square meters and can be used simultaneously by approximately 100 people. A large portion of this space is open space, but there are also small studios available for rent. Monthly subscriptions are available for this purpose, with prices starting from around 100 euros.
NOD makerspace is part of a movement originating in the USA called Maker Reproduction. It focuses on putting engineering projects, 3D printing, sewing, woodworking and other activities from various fields into practice.
The NOD makerspace project allows those who want to materialize their ideas to use laser engraving and cutting objects, welding and assembly tools, drilling machines, pipe bending machines, a Router CNC workshop, and various IT and electronics instruments.
The project aims to assist startups with interesting ideas seeking funding. Approximately €120,000 has been invested in this project, sponsored by 12 companies.
NOD makerspace also offers complementary courses for wood processing, introduction to welding techniques, 3D modeling, electronics, as well as adjacent courses in marketing, Photoshop, post-processing, tailoring or object design.
The project will be financially supported by subscriptions and participation fees for various courses. If you wish to visit it, please note that today, April 4th, a course on using the mini-computer Raspberry Pi will be organized, a course you could also participate in.
