Preparing your pool for winter is an essential step to prolong its lifespan and keep it in good condition until the next season.
Here are a few steps you can follow:
Wall brushing: Use a brush to clean the walls and waterline of algae and buildup.
Filtration: Let the filter run for several hours to clean the water as thoroughly as possible.
Water chemistry balancing:
Measure pH and chlorine levels: Make sure the values are within the range recommended by your pool chemical manufacturer.
Shock treatments: Apply a shock treatment to destroy any remaining bacteria or algae.
Lowering the water level: Reduce the water level by approximately 15-20 cm below the skimmer level.
Adding winterizing products:
pH stabilizer: Helps maintain a constant pH level in the water throughout the winter.
Draining the equipment:
Pump: Remove the pump from the pool and store it in a frost-protected location.
Heater (if applicable): Drain this as well and protect it.
