Color specialists at Pantone have chosen the most popular shades for the approaching autumn. They propose a varied chromatic palette, from neutral, earthy tones to exuberant color statements that reflect the joy of living. The chromatic evokes love for nature but also appreciation for warmth and comfort, represented by hues that inspire protection.
Color designers have chosen representative moments from American history, oscillating between the seductive 1920s and the bohemian hippie era of the 1960s-70s. The shades are thus chosen so that by juxtaposing colors from opposite ends of the chromatic spectrum, a visual balance is created.
All the shades chosen by Pantone for this season are real and exist in nature.
Stormy Weather evokes the sky on a cloudy day, being a strong blend between gray and blue that expresses resistance and solidity. It can be integrated into passage spaces or living areas, providing elegance to these rooms.
Oak Buff is a comforting and positive hue that inspires feelings of relaxation. Situated at the border between gold and yellow, it is a hue that soothes and provides relief. It can be used to decorate an accent wall, energizing the room, or for energy-giving accessories: cushions, curtains, decorative objects.
Dried Herb recalls the safari theme, but is used this season to bring refinement. It is an organic shade intended to create successful contrasts with the warm shades in the Pantone palette, such as Marsala or Cadmium Orange, presented below.
Marsala is familiar to us because it was named the color of the year 2015. Of course, it couldn't be missing from this season either, and with its nuances of reddish-brown wine, it adds elegance and perfection to interiors.
Biscay Bay migrates towards cooler tones, with a touch like a September breeze. This shade combines the soothing attributes of blue with the power of green rejuvenation. It is ideal for bedrooms or kitchens.
Cadmium Orange evokes a feeling of optimism and fantasy. Playful but at the same time sophisticated, it can be used as a contrasting element, juxtaposed against the calmer shades mentioned above.
Cashmere Rose is a delicate pink hue, reminiscent of the 1960s, suitable for combinations with natural earthy tones.
Reflecting Pond is a sober blue that offers depth to interiors. A serious shade intended to express stability and determination. Suitable for passage areas, masculine decors or business spaces.
Amethyst Orchid is an enigmatic hue that intrigues through its uniqueness and boldness. It can become a finish for an accent wall or mark focal points in a room.
