Romania has 8 representatives at Electrolux Design Lab 2014, being the country with the most projects registered in the international competition. Electrolux Design Lab 2014 awards the best concepts from 43 countries, the number of candidates exceeding 100 this year.

The experts at Electrolux have already chosen the best concepts to move on to the next stage of the global design competition, which will compete for the grand prize of €5,000 and a paid internship lasting 6 months within an international Electrolux design center.

“Creating Healthy Homes” was the theme of the competition for 2014 – Creating Healthy Homes – focused on 3 main areas of interest, such as: “Culinary enjoyment” – Culinary Delight, “Fabric care” – Fabric Care and “Air Purification” – Air Purification.

Over 1,700 competitors from all over the world submitted their concepts in 2014, the ideas being developed based on consumer behavior and trying to identify their needs according to the environment in which they carry out their activity.

“Three projects received the jury's vote, and the fourth received the public's vote, which can only but rejoice us and confirm the value and potential of the young Romanians who thought up these concepts.

Through them, Romania is even closer to winning a place on the international design map, qualifying in the Top 70+ and moving on to the next stage,” said Carmen Georgescu, Marketing & Communication Manager Electrolux Romania, referring to the Romanian competitors registered in the competition.
