According to his statements, last year the market for paving stones and curbs in Romania reached a volume of over 13 million meters of products delivered, while the value was approximately €69 million.
Despite the increasingly significant decrease in public projects supported by local or central budgets, the market has experienced an upward trend due to the growing number of private projects, highlighted a company representative.
He added that, within private projects, the biggest progress has been observed in the residential segment, where a recovery has been felt nationwide. Similarly, the number of private commercial or industrial projects has intensified in the last year.
The Challenges of 2014 for the Paving Stone Market
Although the market experienced an upward trend in 2014, last year brought major challenges, according to Symmetrica. These included a drastic reduction in state budgets allocated for infrastructure and landscaping work, as well as an increase in payment term risks and insolvencies reported within the construction market.
Regarding the evolution of the relevant market for the current year, Sebastian Bobu is counting on maintaining the values recorded in 2014.
