We always rejoice when we see people with initiative who decide to take their lives into their own hands and build a home, regardless of size, but through their own efforts and with a lot of imagination.
The Casuta was built by couple Andrew and Gabriella Morrison, who decided to avoid taking out a mortgage to buy a house and instead construct their own home.
It's not much, but it's home," declared Andrew Morrison about their mobile home, which cost approximately $33,000.
The couple came up with the idea of building a house as self-sufficient as possible, all to avoid paying bank installments for decades. Although they opted for a small construction within their budget, they did not give up on style at all, both in terms of interior and exterior design.
For the construction of the house, $22,000 was required, and for all finishing work, landscaping, and furnishing of the cottage, an additional $11,000 was allocated. The couple is proud to say they no longer have any bank debts.
Given their choice to build a self-sufficient home, they have minimized all utilities. As the house foundation is mounted on wheels, they can leave for vacation whenever and wherever they desire, always benefiting from the comfort of their own bed.
The entire house construction process took approximately 4 months, and Andrew and Gabriell Morisson have never been happier, now being their own masters. They congratulate themselves for the courage to not take out a bank loan and choosing the option of a charming tiny house on wheels.
