The capital of Great Britain is full of wonderful gardens that are worth visiting even for a short walk. They can be a great source of inspiration for our own small gardens that we plan alongside the house of our dreams that we will build in the future.
Open Garden Squares Many of London's famous gardens are huge and were once private properties. Among them is the Royal Botanical Gardens, which stretches over no less than 121 hectares and where you can admire over 30,000 types of plants. The gardens have a history of over 250 years and have been declared a heritage site.
Then it's worth taking a walk through Kensington Palace Gardens and Hampton Court Palace Gardens. The latter covers 24 hectares and were created at the request of Henry VIII. Eltham Palace Gardens cover seven hectares and are medieval gardens full of Art Deco decorative elements.
If you get tired of the big ones, we also recommend some small and peaceful gardens where you can rest for a few hours. Chelsea Physic Garden was founded in 1673 with the aim of cultivating medicinal plants there. Today, there is still a garden called "Garden of World Medicine" and one "Pharmaceutical Garden".
Visit the Japanese garden Kyoto in Holland Park for a spectacular Japanese landscape in the rainy climate of London and don't miss Charlton House Peace Garden.
Chiswick House Gardens were designed in the 18th century by William Kent, and The Garden Museum is where you can observe the entire history of Great Britain in terms of gardens and stroll through the museum's interior garden.
