Zalipie, an ancient village of several centuries old, located in southeastern Poland, manages to amaze the whole world with the beauty of its houses and the naturalness and traditions of its surroundings, still kept alive by the elderly Polish inhabitants.
Being named by several publications in the field as the most beautiful village in the world, the attention of tourists has gradually begun to turn towards this place which is like a time capsule, where traditions are passed down from father to son and from mother to daughter even today.
The Polish village of Zalipie, with its paintings and the way its inhabitants decorate the houses and gardens of this settlement, resembles a bit the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta, from our country, especially through the means used for painting the houses.
The global attention generated by this small village is due to the fact that over 100 years ago, the Poles from Zalipie began to paint their ceilings, houses, interiors of rooms and stables with limewash, in such a beautiful way that it was continued throughout the generations that followed.
Over time, the paintings have expanded from houses, stables, ceilings and barns to the entire household, even to fences, buckets, wells and all the tools found in a farmhouse.
