Therme Bucharest, opened on January 14, 2016, is undoubtedly the most impressive project built in Bucharest in recent times. The investment belongs to the Viennese group A-Heat, a global leader in industrial energy solutions, construction having begun in autumn 2013.

Galeria Dezvoltatorii presents the complex as the largest wellness, relaxation and entertainment space in Europe. Its surface area is impressive, and the architectural and technological details are no less so. The land on which the complex is located is 250,000 square meters, and the covered area is 30,000 square meters.

The inverted surface measures 18,000 square meters, with over 800,000 plants, including 25 palm species brought from the USA, Malaysia and Thailand. The changing area features 4,000 lockers, 65 showers made of crystal marble, 20 slides (seven of which are for children) and six saunas. The thermal water at Therme Bucharest is extracted from a depth of over 3,100 meters.

The water temperature in the pools is 33°C, and the air temperature is between 29 and 30°C.

The complex is divided into three zones: The Palm (Relaxation Zone) – containing a garden with palm trees, jacuzzi and aromatherapy pools, Elysium (Pampering Zone) has multiple themed saunas and a selenium pool, while the Galaxy zone is specifically designed for families, featuring a slide area and wave pool.

The Elysium area also features a walk-in shower called Floarea Evei, which used 2000 Victorian Diamond Marmara 29 x 33 cm mosaic tiles from Dalet Baie's Stone collection.

I also learned what sanitary ware and finishes were used for this impressive project in the locker rooms and offices. The staff offices were decorated with Karelia- Polar Wood Tundra parquet, a triple-layered flooring with a high degree of wear resistance and a special joining system.

In the locker room area, Delta Studio supplied 60x60 cm and 60x30 cm ceramic tiles from Italian manufacturer FMG, a division of Iris Ceramica. The Statuario Venato Extra collection was chosen for its fine texture and striking veining, making it suitable for high-traffic areas due to its extreme wear resistance and ease of cleaning.

For the bathroom fixtures, Delta Studio selected sanitary ware from Villeroy&Boch, specifically the Pure Stone, Aveo, and O.Novo collections, featuring innovative designs and impeccable functionality. The washbasin faucets are from Hansgrohe, Focus Electronic and Focus 100 collections, boasting a contemporary design suitable for the space.
