Designed for a young family with a small child, the 47 square meter apartment tells a unique story: regardless of the size of the dwelling, choosing appropriate finishes, materials and efficient furniture arrangement can transform a space into a pleasant and ergonomic home.
Initially, the apartment had only one room and a bathroom, but the clients wanted to divide the space into a living area and a sleeping area in a balanced ratio. The presence of a load-bearing wall in the center of the dwelling did not leave them with many partitioning options.
The living area, composed of a minimalist kitchen, living room and dining room, forms a functional and very welcoming open space; through the entrance hall you can partially see this area; the dining table being an elegant point of perspective.
For the sleeping area they opted for a rectangular room where they placed the double bed and an extendable sofa for the child. Next to the bed, there is access to a balcony transformed into a workspace. The presence of plants here creates a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere and adds an exotic touch to the space.
Denis Tarasenko, the designer of this project, tells us that "the interior is built on a harmonious combination between old and new: old baskets belonging to the wife's great-grandmother, the armchair in the living room restored for this project, small figurines inherited from grandparents. The rest of the furniture is new.
Many decorative items were purchased during travels.” Paintings by artist Anastasia Limonova decorate the walls, complementing the stylistic design of the home.
The neutral color palette and bright, open accents in sunset colors are defining elements of this interior design. The walls were prepared for painting by the developer; in the living room, intense pink and lilac accents were added, while a geometric wallpaper was applied next to the headboard.
The kitchen is located in a niche behind the living room; being spacious enough for preparing daily meals. Rectangular brick-type Kerama Marazzi tiles were used for the kitchen backsplash and bathroom wall cladding.
