We live in a world that is constantly moving, and man must adapt on the go to the new changes that arise. From the multitude of questions that dominate modern times, who can tell us something about the importance of architecture in everyday life and about man's adaptability to the built environment?! It is not a rhetorical question.
That's why we invite you to Cluj to watch some thematic films that will be screened during the "Architecture Days" – Building Roots event between May 11-17, 2015.
Opening the Gallery The event represents a cultural manifestation that aims to raise the level of professional culture of architecture students, architects, and architecture enthusiasts, and makes it possible for architecture to be known also by the general public, such as ordinary citizens of the city or other people interested in the subject.
Between May 11-17, numerous events will take place, and the exact program can be found here.
Urban Eye presents two films that address the theme of the built environment from the perspective of sustainability in completely different ways: Ruin, directed by Markus Lenz (Germany 2014) and Microtopia, directed by Jesper Wachtmeister (Sweden 2013).
The first film tells the story of the rooting of a self-managed community in the structure of a 45-story office tower, unfinished due to the economic crisis 20 years ago in Venezuela. The second presents a micro vision of dwelling; simple inhabitants, artists or architects innovate, experiment, propose minimal housing installed in various, strange, beautiful spaces.
