May is, par excellence, the month of flowers. During this period, the city breathes the aroma of spring flowers and at almost every street corner or subway exit we meet a stall where they await immense bouquets of lilac, jasmine, daffodils, tulips, snowdrops, roses or wonderful peonies.
Therefore, the luckiest men, those who want to impress their girlfriends or wives, have plenty to choose from and can create the perfect combination of colors and scents.
The first date is, however, a delicate moment; it requires special attention, which is why we asked for some advice from the florists of Roflora to find out details about the types of flowers suitable for this occasion.
What varieties of flowers are offered on a first date?
For a first date, we offer seasonal flowers. It's a stage of tasting each other's tastes, getting to know the other person. A bouquet of the right size, cheerful, colorful, without packaging, is very suitable.
So, if we are giving flowers for romantic purposes, we will choose: red roses (romantic love), pink roses (secret love), white roses (innocent love), daisies (loyal love), orchids (love and beauty), red camellias (you are a flame in my heart), ambrosia (love is mutual).
If you don't know much about flowers, we give you a tip. You can choose based on color. Go for shades of red, bright red, pink, orange and yellow to express love and beauty. White, blue and purple indicate respect, while light pink and peach symbolize honor.
What would be more appropriate: a bouquet or a single stem?
A bouquet is more common, more suitable for a first date. A single flower (rose) is more personal, more dedicated, more in love.
How much does the packaging matter?
Flowers are offered without packaging (paper, foil). Decorative packaging can harmoniously complete the floral composition if it is correctly matched and integrated into the composition, only as an accessory. We offer flowers primarily. If we opt for a bouquet with packaging (for protection, for example in the cold season), always, before offering the bouquet, the packaging is removed.

Should we choose flowers that only look good or that also have a very pleasant smell?
We need to know what can bring joy to the person we are offering the flowers to. If it's a sensitive person who loves the smell, yes, we can offer fragrant flowers. Some people are allergic to strong scents. For a cheerful person, we offer a colorful bouquet.
