The owner of this apartment, located in the heart of St. Petersburg, is an 18-year-old student passionate about art and music. He owns many musical instruments, for which he wanted to find the right place in the apartment's design, integrating them both functionally and aesthetically.

The Project Challenge

The designer was allowed to give free rein to his imagination in furnishing the home, starting from a concept established jointly with the beneficiary. The challenge was to faithfully reflect in the design the energy of starting a new stage in life and the freedom characteristic of youth.

The result is a masculine interior without appearing austere, in a modern style, with carefully selected decor items and textures that blend harmoniously.

Concept and Source of Inspiration

The source of inspiration and epicenter of the chromatic concept of the house was a photograph by a Russian photographer, a photograph with a new ambitious symbol of the city. From this point, we can observe how the design revolves around the art objects owned by the owner.

With a budget of 28,000 euros, the modern-style furnishing with Scandinavian and vintage accents focused on creating a suitable backdrop for the photographs, paintings, and art objects displayed, so as not to compete with them but rather to highlight them.

Thus, the walls were finished with washable paint in neutral shades, and the warm texture of the wood and the bright accents of the furniture contribute to shaping a cheerful atmosphere.

Compartmentalization and Space Remodeling

Initially, the apartment consisted of a living room with a kitchen, a closed entrance hall, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a toilet, both accessible from the hallway.

The compartmentalization proposed by the designer, taking into account the beneficiary's desire for more space at the expense of excessive storage, consisted of an open hallway leading to the spacious living room and kitchen area, a bedroom with a dedicated office area, a bathroom, and a niche-type dressing room.

Given the reduced surface area of the apartment, every corner has its own meaning and purpose, maximizing the available square meters. Regarding the two bathrooms existing in the apartment, they decided to sacrifice one of them to make room for a dressing room accessible from the bedroom.
