The house was in a state of degradation due to the fact that it had not been inhabited for a period of time and it required a series of works to be able to continue with the proposed refurbishment project by architect Jaume Alomar.
The beauty of the house lies in the wonderful architectural details specific to this area of Spain, which both the owners and the architect wanted to preserve as much as possible in order to preserve part of the history of the area and the house itself.
The arrangement was conceived on 2 levels: on the ground floor are the common areas: kitchen, living room with dining area and a service bathroom, while the bedrooms are upstairs. Also, from the living room you can access the courtyard with a pool and dining areas. Spacious, airy spaces and the use of natural materials were one of the owner's firm desires.
You will see that the predominant materials are stone, wood and tiles, all combined with textiles that dress the space and give it the warmth of a real home.
The details are surprising: vaults specific to local architecture, apparent wooden beams, specially treated and left visible, and lots and lots of white that highlights the decor. Light floods the space, and the white walls reflect it, enhancing the effect of spaciousness.
In this sense, a skylight was also installed on the first level of the house, so that natural light penetrates to the middle of the living room, creating a special effect.
The arrangement maintains a simple tone, with spaces reflecting a modern and comfortable atmosphere. Furniture in shades of natural wood combines with textiles in neutral tones, maintaining the natural character and at the same time reminding us of the natural connection between the interior and exterior.
