The story of this renovation begins in 2021 from the desire of the beneficiaries (a young family with two children) to extend their home and create a closer connection between the living area and the unexploited courtyard.

After repartitioning, the middle part of the house became the intermediary space and the heart of the home at the same time. The living room is composed of three zones that communicate visually with each other and offer a varied experience of relaxation and leisure: the bar area, the dining area, and the lounge area.

The designers from Citylife Arhitectura adopted an open color palette in neutral tones, in perfect harmony with the modern style of the design.

Solid wood in light oak and beech tones, light gray shades used for the textile material of the sofa and curtains, the exposed concrete effect that we find in the kitchen and on the wall with sliding glass doors; all these are carefully put into a warm-cold, soft-hard balance, managing to shape a relaxing atmosphere.

“For the bathrooms, I chose neutral and light tones, with small discrete variations in textures, in contrast to which we inserted matte black accents for the faucets and sanitary accessories.”

The master bedroom was designed as an intimate space, strongly separated from the rest of the ground floor, including through the presence of curved lines and predominant soft materials; the intense orange accent of the bed fabric gives the space a unique character.

The natural wood riflature, curved to mask an unwanted exterior corner, contributes to the warm atmosphere of the bedroom.

After gaining experience in design offices in Romania and abroad, Ioana Daria Toghe founded the Citylife Arhitectura design office in 2019 with the clear mission of creating contemporary spaces tailored to the needs and personalities of each beneficiary.
