The relaxed, youthful atmosphere of this single-family home in Berceni, Ilfov welcomes you from the moment you step inside. The beneficiaries, a family with two young children, desired a contemporary design with Scandinavian style accents. The result is an intimate space with a focus on comfort.
The total area, 156 sqm, is relatively evenly distributed: 86 sqm on the ground floor and 70 sqm on the first floor (where the night zone is located with three bedrooms, a spacious dressing room, and a bathroom).
The ground floor of the house was designed as an open-space where all areas communicate efficiently with each other while maintaining privacy. Adjacent to the kitchen, we find the living room, the dining area (located by the window), and the relaxation corner by the fireplace.
At the request of the beneficiaries, the garage space (located next to the living area) was transformed into a laundry room and fitness area, designed in the same style as the rest of the house.
We also find in this project the preferred textures of the Inhousedesign architecture team, which they are used to working with and highlighting (natural wood, glass, metal, velvet). However, the ratio between them is personalized for each space, along with harmonizing with the family's favorite color nuances.
One of the main challenges of the project was the central staircase. “We opted for a glass balustrade to have better visibility from one space to another.
We maximized the space under the stairs using custom-made furniture pieces carefully created by Mr. Cristi Staicu, who followed the line of the steps and created sliding systems under the stairs for the hallway wardrobe and extra storage in the kitchen.”
The girls' bedrooms were designed respecting the color palette and style of the entire design, adding only a few accents of blush pink and colored grays. They opted for many hidden storage spaces and the highlight piece of the design: a bed built into the furniture line with the silhouette of a house above.
