This property in South Africa was refurbished while maintaining a modern architectural line and adopting a cool aesthetic for the interiors. The project was designed by South African architect Henrie Comrie.

Natural materials were used. Emphasis was placed on personal touch, precious textiles arranged in a creative stratification, and details were added to personalize and bring it out of anonymity. The final result is the perfect illustration of the casual cool concept.

Located in a renowned wine region (Banhoek), the house surprises with its wonderful view, a picturesque setting that invites relaxation. Everything is designed to inspire this – numerous verandas that let light bathe the space, generous terraces from where you can scan the pictorial horizons and a garden from which it's hard to take your eyes away.

Depending on the time of day, the colors of the decor make each room a true spectacle – a universal language of successful interior design, the chromaticism respects the balance of the sun and complements the decorative elements in an inspired way.

We like natural things that are in harmony with the love of life," say the owners, who also own a flower shop called Okasie.

Architect Henrie Comrie took Le Corbusier as his starting point – pale white walls, industrial metal, raw concrete ceilings and untreated wood. Everything integrated into the natural environment so that the transition from outside to inside is natural.

The decorative objects were collected by the owners over time and are not the kind you can easily find in stores. To remove any trace of banality, they were nonchalantly mixed in each room with the furniture pieces, emphasizing the complementary relationship within a unitary vision of the space.

Conceptual neutrals, a subtle balance of colors and shapes, to give that note of relaxation that transforms a house into a home.
