“Masseria” is a term that designates a fortified farm in the Italian region of Apulia. Built between the 16th and 19th centuries, they were protected by solid walls against attacks from Turks or pirates. The extensive estates of these farms were dedicated exclusively to agriculture and were owned by local nobles.

Open Gallery In addition to the owners' residence, there were annexes for housing farmers, workers, and crops. The beauty of the landscapes surrounding the masserie seems unreal. The proximity to the sea coast and the blessed Mediterranean climate create unforgettable views.

Masseria Potenti is a superb boutique hotel down to the smallest detail, located 5 kilometers from the Ionian Sea, in the Apulia region (Puglia in Italian), and spread over an estate of 130 hectares. The farm dates back to the 16th century and belonged to the powerful Imperiali family. It is situated on hills that gently slope down towards the Ionian Sea, amidst endless rows of olive trees and vineyards.

The farm was purchased over ten years ago by the current owners of the hotel (after it had been abandoned), out of a desire to reconnect with natural life. Initially, they took care of the uncultivated land themselves, to make it fruitful, and after a few years they decided to make this place of unnatural beauty and tranquility public.

The original architecture was preserved, the annexes of the main house being transformed into rooms and apartments for guests. The white walls of the buildings reflect the strong southern Italian light and are a discreet presence in the Mediterranean vegetation decor. Each residence has a fireplace, a pool, and a private inner courtyard with views of the farm's rich gardens.

The rooms maintain the simple line of the entire design – the four-poster bed and subtle décor create an intimate, romantic atmosphere.

Each room is decorated differently, with carefully chosen details and soothing textures, even the prints having a retro touch. No object is randomly placed, being in harmony with the other details and evoking the opulent past of the space. All accessories and finishes were chosen in neutral, calming shades so as not to overload the already incredible natural décor.

Within Masseria Potenti, there is a wellness space (hammam) where guests can relax, and countless areas for reading, daydreaming, socializing, created in the garden area (there is even a centuries-old fig tree).

Masseria Potenti is an example of excellence in transforming a building laden with history into a public space that amazes with its beauty and naturalness.

According to the farm's owners, each calendar month has its own charm and transforms the natural décor of the farm. In May, nature explodes in color, June is silent, July is scorching, September nostalgic.
