Depending on the available space, on the windowsill or near the window, in hanging pots, almost any cactus can be grown. For this, a series of conditions are needed.

Direct sunlight. Against too strong sunlight, mosquito netting can be used. This allows only diffused light to penetrate, which is less harmful to plants. The same effect is achieved by covering the plants with a thin fabric of muslin or silk, which protects them from direct sunlight.

Warm and dry air. Usually, radiators are mounted under window sills in homes. Warm and dry air is directed towards the plants. This is a problem for plants. In the natural environment, in the desert, the temperature drops significantly at night, so cacti need coolness at night. Constant heating of the space can disturb the plants or even be harmful.

Moving the cacti repeatedly at night to a cooler place can be a solution. Alternatively, we can improve the humidity of the room by placing a bowl of water on the radiator.

During the summer, we have a multitude of possibilities to choose from when it comes to placing cacti. Clean air and higher humidity on the balcony, terrace or garden are preferred by any plant.

The basic rule of care also applies outdoors: direct sunlight is harmful to most cacti. Due to strong sunshine, plants can get burned. If you have a garden, cacti can be placed in shady spots under trees or taller plants. On the balcony or terrace, larger potted plants can provide shade.

Cacti can be placed according to the available space and conditions. You can choose cacti for the living room, kitchen or bathroom. Just make sure that these light-loving plants are placed on the windowsill or near a window to benefit from as much light as possible. Less demanding species are placed in the living room.

In the kitchen and bathroom, however, i.e., in spaces with more steam and therefore higher humidity, choose species that tolerate or require such conditions.
