The design of entertainment spaces has changed a lot lately — or, more accurately, seems to be in full transformation, guided by an ever-increasing demand for multifunctional areas.

Statistics suggest that in 2023, approximately 37% of Romanians visited at least once a year a modern entertainment space, whether it was playgrounds, event halls, or social gaming spaces. Customers come with high expectations; some seek flexibility, others — efficiency, and many also want a touch of elegance.

Current trends emphasize optimizing every square meter and — quite importantly — integrating interactive technologies, which seem to be becoming the norm rather than the exception. A well-designed space attracts people, can generate loyalty, and in certain cases, ends up defining the atmosphere of a neighborhood or even a city — but that's not a hard and fast rule.

Maximum flexibility and personalization

Personalization, meanwhile, is no longer just an accessory: whether we're talking about thematic accents or adaptations for people with disabilities, spaces must — or at least are increasingly expected to — respond to diverse needs. Accessibility, therefore, no longer seems like a "nice to have" detail; it could be just as important as aesthetics or energy efficiency.

Functionality and intelligent space optimization

According to a Playzone Concept survey, nearly 58% of entertainment space customers state that they prefer locations where they can combine digital and physical activities. Optimizations don't stop at design; LED lighting and materials with a reduced carbon footprint tend to become standard, which, whether forced or not, raises the bar even for small operators.
