Often, small ideas bring about big changes in a home's decor. Those moments when we decide to renovate certain areas or refresh the design of particular rooms don't have to be a drain on the budget or a chore for the family. On the contrary, each member can contribute their own imagination.

A couple from Seattle decided to renovate their home on a tight budget, with ambition and plenty of imagination.

They used cheerful, pleasing colors. From the first glance at the house, we are enveloped in a pleasant feeling - the shade of violet combined with the green of the bushes delighting our eyes.

For the yard, concrete was replaced with paving stones, and the fence was rebuilt using construction wood received from a friend, thus managing to stay within the initial allocated budget. The veranda is an important place for the family. Plants in various pots of different shapes play an important role in the decor, which seems straight out of the heart of the forest. The white bench is our favorite element.

The garage was transformed into a guest room. Cheerful colors dominate here as well. The living room is enchanting and includes a combination of styles carefully integrated into the overall decor. From the coffee table to the sofas, to the lighting fixtures to the Pakistani rug.

One of the sofas was refurbished and adorned with a unique, delicate material of Chinese inspiration.

The couple's original style is also reflected in the red-framed mirror and paintings, all purchased from antique shops. Even the gas lamp transformed into a modern lighting fixture brings a vintage feel to the decor. The same goes for the old yellow hydrant alongside several paintings with various inspirations.

Since there wasn't a dedicated dining area in the house, the two had to improvise one. In fact, the same spot where the family eats is also used as a play and creative space for the children.

The decor here seems specially designed for girls, the two artists being free to experiment even on the decorative pillows, the material of which is resistant to watercolors and markers.
