Today's inspiration comes from Arad. We are talking about the home of a young, cheerful and optimistic couple, designed with great love by Cristina Bordoiu, an interior designer we have written about before.here.

The two wanted a bright, warm and cheerful atmosphere. Some of the existing finishes were kept, Cristina designing the living area, the master bedroom and the weekend room for the little girl.

The concept she came up with for this design started from the story of the two. Edina and Cristian are fitness instructors and two cheerful, optimistic and very kind-hearted people. After learning their story and getting to know them better, Cristina proposed an approach that suited their needs, in which they could find themselves and be equally pleased.

The house came finished with Ruschita marble on the ground floor, which we kept and reconditioned. We also kept the laminate flooring in the master bedroom, only changing the skirting board to a white MDF one. For the girl's room, we opted to replace the previous carpet with a green and soft one from Diego. We chose the carpet because of the reduced size of the room.

Then, since it is a child's room, we all know that they spend most of their time on the floor and it is best for them to have a soft and warm support. The furniture is mainly made of Egger chipboard.

For the walls, we chose a warm white, almost cream. Thus, the bright background, pastel colors and cheerful prints helped me create the desired atmosphere: bright, full of cheerfulness, optimism and love.

I wanted the lighting fixtures to be as discreet as possible but to illuminate well; some are from a local store, Magia Luminii and some are from IKEA (the chandelier at the dining area and the bedside lamps in the bedroom).

In the living area, the furniture was made by a manufacturer from Arad according to my sketches. I gave up the balustrade and instead, I designed a multifunctional storage space. In addition, I masked the radiators so that they would give the impression of furniture pieces and included several perforated MDF panels in these masks to allow the heat to circulate freely.

The sofa came with the house and we were delighted with its unusual shape, all the more so as it encourages family games or with friends (who are part of the owners' lifestyle). We reupholstered it with colorful materials, with cheerful prints and transformed it into the focal point of the living room.

For the kitchen area, Cristina also turned to the same furniture manufacturer, Milin Radovan from Arad. Here, the two wanted a spacious, cheerful and easy-to-maintain space. Colored glass was chosen instead of tiles, and the centerpiece is the green refrigerator from SMEG. The dining area was meant to be generous, for family meals (the table and chairs are from IKEA).
