We are very happy when we receive new interior designs from our readers. Therefore, today we propose an exceptional design created by Simona and Rares with a limited budget of only 7,000 euros (this budget including finishes), but with a significant contribution from them. We invite you to read the story of this makeover.
With an area of 58 square meters, the 2-room apartment in Cluj-Napoca integrates a kitchen, a bathroom, and a spacious hallway connecting all spaces. The dwelling was intended for subsequent rental.
It all started from the idea of offering future tenants comfort and warmth that we wanted to find in the apartments we rent both domestically and abroad, during vacations or city breaks.
Simona wanted the new space to be relaxing and charming while retaining its functionality. Therefore, together with Rares, they were heavily involved in the future design. Since the property was not entirely finished, they took their time to research multiple sources of inspiration from which they gathered their design ideas.
For 1 year, during the construction of the building, we purchased almost all the furniture for the future apartment. We started buying solid wood furniture and painting it white (I really wanted white to dominate in contrast with the gray tones on the walls).
Since refurbishing the furniture took us a lot of time, we introduced new furniture made of MDF material combined with pal into the design of the apartment.
The gray-white contrast and shabby chic furniture pieces created a special story for this apartment.
Regarding the style adopted, we wanted to offer future tenants a part of the shabby chic style, a style rarely found in rental apartments.
