Diana recently told us about decorating her in-laws' house, a project she undertook out of passion. The final result was completed in approximately 3 months on a budget of 7000 euros.

Her in-laws "had been looking for a house where they could retire in almost 4 years.

“It was love at first sight for everyone, both for them and us; the classic design reminiscent of English houses, the fireplace, and the generous windows won us all over. Knowing that I am passionate about interior design, they proposed that I take care of decorating the house, a proposal accepted with joy and enthusiasm.”

From the moment they purchased the house located in Magurele, Ilfov until the entire decoration was finished, her in-laws did not visit the construction site. They were pleasantly surprised when they were invited at the end to see the result, an emotional moment for the whole family.

No changes were made to the layout; the decoration followed the zoning proposed by the developer. The ground floor has a living room, kitchen, bedroom, dressing room, and a bathroom. The attic is currently unfinished and will be decorated in the coming years.

As the budget allocated for decorating after purchasing the house was quite limited, the decoration focused on the ground floor (living room and kitchen), while the bedroom is minimally furnished (with older furniture for now). In the next four years, the house will only be used on weekends as a vacation home, so the living area has gained increased importance.

The appearance of the house reminded the owners of English houses and gradually a concept of English gardens with many pastel roses emerged (being the main source of inspiration for style and color palette).

The 11 square meter kitchen is the attraction of the house. The client wanted a neutral, unique color from the classic furniture range with fronts and cornices.

They chose a dusty rose shade for most of the kitchen furniture, complemented by a cream-sand shade for the hanging cabinets. The kitchen decor is completed by retro-style appliances.

The living area, the living room, is 90% decorated. It covers 17 square meters and the first visual impact is the beautiful fireplace framed between two classic-carved buffets made at a local workshop.

The rose theme is also present here (carpet, design of the suspended light fixture, small decorative objects), personalizing the overall decor in pastel shades.

There is no delimitation between the hallway and the living room so they came up with the solution of building a panel from MDF and a shoe rack towards the hallway (extremely practical).

At the windows we can admire simple white tulle curtains, while transparent drapes give an elegant look, ensuring the necessary privacy in the evening and natural light during the day.
