We see beautiful arrangements every day. Studios, smaller or larger apartments, houses in different styles, all inspire us and offer ideas for our own arrangements. However, this house went straight to our hearts. And after you see the photos, I hope you will feel the same way.
Furnished in a superb rustic style, this little house makes us dream with our eyes open. The dominant feature – exposed stone walls – gives it a unique aura alongside other elements specific to this style.
Built in the 1900s, the house underwent a serious renovation to bring it to its present state. The original structure was preserved and natural materials were used in accordance with the outdoor environment in which the house is located, the Girona area of Spain.
The floors and roof were insulated, the old windows were replaced, all artificial lighting was replaced with LED technology and solar panels were installed as a source of hot water. So here's a sustainable renovation, with care for the environment.
Special attention was also paid to the exterior, with the desire to preserve the original appearance of the stone facade as well as the beams inside the house. The courtyard has been transformed into a magnificent garden with a swimming pool. And interior modifications were made for greater coherence of functionalities.
The living room was reorganized so that it is in direct connection with the kitchen and the exterior, creating direct access to the garden.
The interior of the house is a dream. A lot of natural light enters the rooms, and the predominant white amplifies the space and creates a relaxing atmosphere.
The natural shade of the wood in the parquet combines harmoniously with the exposed stone of the walls, enriching the textural ambiance and making it very pleasant and cool at the same time (taking into account the Mediterranean climate of Spain). The kitchen area stands out through volta catalana, an architectural feature specific to this region. And the bedrooms maintain the same note.
The fusion between past and present is visible at every step in this arrangement. The rustic style blends with contemporary accents in a balanced mix to create an absolutely superb decor, a true oasis of relaxation and tranquility in an authentic rural environment.
