The modern, elegant style with glam accents and at the same time functional and welcoming characterizes the design of this house in Tunari, Romania, a design signed by the Cristian Patrascu Studio team.
Open Gallery The dwelling is spread over two levels, with a clear delimitation between the daytime area on the ground floor and the night-time area upstairs. The design was completed in 2020, with an allocated budget of approximately €35,000.
The 136 square meters of usable space in the house were distributed into a generous open-space living area, 3 bedrooms, a ground floor bathroom and bathrooms attached to the bedrooms.
“Being an open space where the staircase communicates with the living area, we wanted to integrate it, and the black metal elements of the railing are also found in the TV stand, the library next to the dining table, as well as at the foot of the marble-topped table.”
For this project, the architects proposed a neutral color palette with accents of intense colors for the curtains and small decorative accessories. Wood predominates, used both for furniture pieces and as a finish (parquet flooring, staircase steps) and in decorative assemblies - wooden battens on walls and ceiling.
Every area of the house was exploited for storage; even under the stairs, closed storage with handleless doors was proposed, continuing into a wooden library accessible from the sofa area. The bedrooms featured generous spaces for various types of storage, including a library area and display cabinet.
The master bedroom maintains the stylistic line of the entire design, with an exotic touch added by the tropical leaf wallpaper mounted on the headboard wall. Velvet green curtains and oak wood slats complete the luxurious atmosphere of the room.
In the guest bedroom, there is a stronger contrast between the dusty pink velvet headboard and the grey concrete-finish wall behind the bed. The wooden elements also play an aesthetic role here and harmoniously complement the design style.
