We are very happy when you share the stories of your homes. Today, Anda from Cluj-Napoca decided to tell us about how she decorated her apartment, what ideas she put into practice and many other details that you can use as a source of inspiration for your own home.

Tell us some details about the apartment

The apartment has an area of 49 square meters, is located on the ground floor, in a building with 2 floors and has a common terrace with my sister's apartment. It is located in a new neighborhood in Cluj-Napoca, on a quiet street. The furnishing of the apartment took about 8 months.

How did you envision the decoration? What did you want for the living room?

I wanted a bright apartment that offers clean lines and chic design elements, as well as the comfort of a welcoming and modern home that inspires through its color scheme. To create the illusion of a larger space, I opted for white in both the choice of flooring and doors, as well as furniture. The living room wall that has an exit to the terrace is made of glass, thus providing great brightness.

I drew the sketches of the furniture pieces myself, always keeping functionality in mind. The kitchen comes with an island unit to which I added 3 bar stools. The height is not a standard one (92cm), I wanted to use the bar stools at their initial height.

Since the living room forms a unified whole with the kitchen, I opted for built-in appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, central heating unit) inside the furniture. For the living room unit, I kept simple lines, both for storage cabinets and open shelves to avoid visually overwhelming the space with too many pieces of furniture.

The sofa, armchairs and bed in the bedroom were custom-made by Gamoni, giving me the possibility to configure and personalize both the dimensions of the sofa (height and seat depth) and the height of the bed (90cm).

I wanted to give the room a dramatic look, so I opted for a color that would have an impact - purple; this shade is found as a motif in the upholstery of the sofa and armchairs, as well as in other small decorative accessories in the house.

Because I like to read whenever I have some free time, I set up a reading corner with a mini-library and a very comfortable leather armchair that I accessorized with a lamp in pastel shades of purple.

In the absence of a proper hallway, I wanted to make the entrance to the apartment as welcoming as possible, so the long pile rug was cut into shape and the coat rack is semi-hidden, with clothes not being visible from the living room.

Bedroom

For the bedroom, I wanted a comfortable, modern and truly relaxing space, keeping the same white for the flooring, wardrobe and bedside table, and using raw green as an accent element in the bed upholstery, which combines perfectly with the gray of the curtains and the painting that beautifully adorns the wall (it is made by me).
