For today we propose a new arrangement made by one of our readers. Ioana sent us images of a studio apartment that she decorated for her friend. Here is, briefly, the story.

The 30 square meter space is located in a villa in Bucharest, built during the interwar period. I loved the studio apartment from the beginning because I saw its potential and I was very happy when I was given the chance to furnish it.

I kept what could be refurbished: the doors, the parquet floor and the windows. I wanted to restore some of the charm of that era that the building exudes. The chandelier in the room is also part of this story, being purchased from an antique fair. Unfortunately, the flooring in the hallway and bathroom could not be recovered, as the mosaic was quite damaged.

I opted for a model in the spirit of the original one and I think I made a good choice.

I imagined the main room as a unified, multifunctional area. Here we find the kitchen, a small living room, and the sofa is also the sleeping area; therefore, I chose a comfortable mattress for a restful sleep and decorated it with pillows to look like a couch. Also here, I envisioned a relaxation or reading area, with an armchair, fireplace and coffee table.

I placed the television so that it can be seen from the entire room.

Chromatically, I chose white as the base and added black accents for an extra touch of elegance and turquoise nuances at the level of accessories.

Initially, the kitchen was in a separate room. I transformed that room into a dressing space, and I moved the kitchen to the main room. To keep everything unified and organized, the kitchen is arranged linearly, compactly and with built-in appliances. From the wall allocated to the kitchen, I also created a multifunctional space that can be used as a desk and a dining area.

I used the same type of tiles for the flooring in the bathroom and hallway to create continuity in the decor. For the bathroom, I envisioned the arrangement in the same spirit of the era, but with a modern and functional touch, with a walk-in shower area and floor drain. The turquoise accents of the accessories and the green ivy bring a splash of color to the predominantly white space.

We hope this arrangement inspires you too!
