The secret to a successful interior design lies in the professional execution of every detail in your home. In addition to a well-thought-out plan and an inspiring design, the full involvement of both the beneficiary and the specialist is essential to achieve the best results.

Today we step into a 3-room apartment in the Dristor area of Bucharest. Here we meet Andrei alongside his family and interior designer Iulia Iuga-Dohmen who shared with us the story of their home renovation, an extensive and complex project that culminated in a wonderful home which the family now calls home.

With an area of 80 square meters, the apartment initially had a semi-open kitchen delimited by an archway entrance, dark rooms, and outdated finishes.

Andrei, together with his wife and two daughters, desired from the beginning a dwelling with plenty of storage space, a comfortable and welcoming interior that would offer the pleasant feeling of home. To achieve this, the entire interior underwent major transformations resulting in an exceptional design to the liking of the beneficiaries. Here's the concept for each room.

Living Room

As the family enjoys watching movies frequently, the TV area has a dual role: decorative and storage. The furniture design does not overload the space but harmoniously blends with the rest of the decor. The plum-colored background wall highlights the wooden furniture while simultaneously creating a focal point in the living room.

We were drawn to the coffee table with its movable top, allowing for the storage of various magazines or TV and DVD player remotes underneath.

The orange armchair, a creation by renowned designer Patricia Urquiola, is particularly noteworthy, while the Foscarini lighting fixture adds distinction to this modern living room.

The wall next to the door is dedicated to storage space without resembling a dressing room. Thus, the lights inserted inside the furniture body through niches can be a perfect place to display picture frames.

The light color palette, textiles, and especially the wood essences (Nebraska oak from Egger) create a harmonious, comforting, and warm ambiance that evokes thoughts of nature.

Kitchen and Hallway

The walls are predominantly pure white with small pastel-colored inserts such as the chocolate mousse shade from Benjamin Moore in the hallway.

One of the main requirements for the kitchen was also storage space, such as the area above the dining table, which has a glazed and illuminated section. The area between the countertop and the hanging cabinets is clad with beige brick-type ceramics and illuminated with LED strips.
